Workout

There are so many amazing ways in which to transform your body and work out, and it can be both the beauty and the crux of a fitness plan. You can customize your workout in any manner of ways that you want directed towards your goals… but how do you figure out what works for you?

I work out 6 days a week consistently with one rest day. My workouts last from 60-140 minutes per day.

I primarily work out at home, and much prefer to do so. I reason that if I have to get up and drive somewhere every day in order to work out, my motivation might dwindle, whereas if my weights are here at home, I have no such excuse.

My program is a hybrid of P90X and Insanity.  Once a week, I go to the gym for heavier lifting. My current schedule is a doubles program: cardio with Insanity 6x week, weights with P90X 3x, gym 1x. I work abs 4x week (every resistance day). Currently, I am focusing on my lower obliques and Adonis belt.

Needless to say, I LOVE Beachbody programs, and am willing to try almost all of them. I would also recommend them to anyone!!

Summer Details:

Over the summer, I will be exploring pole dancing at a local studio; I hear its a great workout and I am looking forward to giving it a shot!

I am also looking to take classes on aerial silks at Vancouver’s Circus School, because it is simply just too amazing not to!

I will also be looking into some Brazil Butt Lift. I’ve already done a few rudimentary test-runs, and I can say at the moment I am definitely a believer that it can produce lower body results!

Personal Notes:

I definitely prefer weightlifting to cardio, due to my lung problems. However, both are steadily increasing at rates that I am very proud of.

I do take supplements: I take protein powder shakes at least once a day, and protein bars. I also take multiple vitamins (with a particular focus on B12), and on occasion will test out a fat burner* or pre-workout supplement, to help give me that extra push.

*Fat burners are NEVER a replacement for a workout or an excuse to slack off, and I will never used them in that way. If I am not eating healthy and working hard, I am in no position to be taking a fat burning supplement.
