Who I am:
My name is Bry, I’m 20 years old. I live outside of Vancouver, BC.
I am a University student, currently studying at UFV for my BA in Arts (History major, anthropology minor). Once I have achieved this, I will be pursuing my Masters in History, and then my PhD in History as well. I aspire to be a History professor, with a focus on Renaissance Europe.
I am incredibly fascinated with supernatural myth, lore, and superstition. I’ve always been a vampire lover, and a collector of fantasy/horror style fiction. Please do not speak to me about Twilight.
I intend to combine my two passions, and specialize in Supernatural superstition and its impact on world history. It is amazing to see how many historically significant people were considered to be vampires, or werewolves in their own time!
Throughout my life, I have dealt with an incredibly limiting lung problem – to explain it simply, I have a diminished lung capacity as a result of scar tissue that was caused by a whooping cough lung tear in my childhood. This has lead to a ‘traumatic asthma’ if you will, and has made cardio extremely difficult for me.
I began P90X in July of 2009, and finished my first cycle in September of that year. Following that, I completed a cycle of Insanity to wrap up December, and now combine the two for a kick-ass workout (see my workout page for more information)
- I am an ordained minister (via the internet)
- The blonde streak in my hair is natural
- I have multiple piercings and two tattoos; you can see many in the pictures I have posted, if you are curious.
- I have my black belt in Sun Hang Do martial arts.
I believe the only way to approach fitness is with a positive, open attitude. Everyone starts somewhere, and it really doesn’t matter where. It is about the journey, and the goals. You can get to where you want to be, from anywhere, as long as you are willing to put in the effort and the dedication. And it is my personal belief that it is our responsibility as a community to facilitate and help others to their goals when it is possible to do so. (Have a goal? Comment or contact me and I’ll do what I can to help you achieve it!)
I do not believe in “I can’t.”
I do not believe in “Its too hard.”
I do not believe in cheating.
I do not believe “because I am fit, I am better than you.”
Other:
My tastes in music are considered rather obscure: my favourite two genres would be Gothic Burlesque-Jazz, and Medieval-Renaissance Sconce. My favourite musicians include Mariana’s Trench, Voltaire, Jonathan Coulton, Blackmore’s Night, Sonata Arctica, Inkubus Sukkubus, Oingo Boingo and so on, but I have favourite songs stretching to almost every genre.
My favourite movies are Rocky Horror Picture Show, Repo! The Genetic Opera, All the classic B-horror/vampire movies, National Treasure, and Advent Children.
I like to play video games, but I am just absolutley terrible at them. The only game I play semi-successfully is WoW, in which I have a level 80 Horde Warlock that likes to burn things. I’m actually more of a roleplayer, and run my own online roleplaying community called Burnt Offerings.

So, P90x is what did it for you? Do you mainly workout at home? I was going to start Jillian Micheals workout in combination with Pilates.
Do you recommend the P90x?
I would ABSOLUTELY recommend P90X! Its a phenomenal program that combines cardio, resistance training, flexibility, core, everything that you need in one very easy to understand program that is guaranteed to produce results as long as you work hard. I can’t get enough of Tony and his amazing attitude, he makes working out so much fun. And yes, I work out at home 98% of the time, I really don’t like having to make the trek to the gym, or to pay for it either. Gym memberships bank on people not using their time… and thats just not a good strategy to support.
That being said, I usually go to the gym about once a week, through my free University access. I go for about an hour to lift my max, and try to heavy up whatever weight I don’t have available at home.
